Creativity-driven urban regeneration in the post-socialist context - The case of Csepel Works, Budapest

The complex institutional, economic, and societal trends that have characterized the post-socialist transition in Central Eastern European countries drastically reshaped urban development. case of Budapest shows three decades nearly exclusive market-driven policies resulted a variety social, spatial environmental deficiencies. This paper presents paradigm creativity-driven regeneration proposes an approach to implement this paradigm, with key role for design interventions, successfully address these challenges, specifically, industrial brownfields, integrated manner create more inclusive, just, sustainable cities.
